Today’s Food for the Soul: Matthew Chapters 14-17
Have Faith, Do Not Doubt!
“Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31, NKJV)
In these four chapters, Jesus has shown and manifested His anointing and power that there was nothing impossible for Him to do. When the multitudes were hungry, Jesus was able to provide food for them; when the sick came, they were healed of their sickness, the sight of the blinds was restored, and the demon-possessed were freed! These people trusted and had faith in Jesus. They came to Him because they believed in Him!
As children of God, we should always have the kind of faith that even when we are experiencing turmoils in life, we will not be shaken nor lose focus on who our Savior is! Peter almost sank because he got distracted by the strong waves around him, fear dominated and took over his faith, but when he called Jesus to save him, there He was with outstretched hands ready to rescue him! That’s who our God is, always waiting for us to come to Him. With humbleness, a repentant heart, and total surrender and obedience to Him is what we need to do to reciprocate that love that He has given us! After all, we love because He loved us first! “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16, NIV).
