Today’s Food for the Soul: Luke Chapters 1-4
Jesus Is The Answer
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18-19, NIV)
Creation began when God made matter, time, and space. Oh, but the happiest time of all, the most glorious moment of all creation, was when the day Jesus Christ was born. The heavens were rejoicing, and angels were singing because “God became flesh and dwelt among us!” Prophecies of His coming were fulfilled. Peace on earth and goodwill to man; the favor of God is bestowed freely on all who would believe in Him. A way was opened up for all unto salvation. What a precious gift from heaven to men who dwell on earth! Joy unspeakable and full of glory is now made available for all, power to the weak, strength to the weary, chains are broken to set us free, liberty to the captives, bread for the hungry, hope for the hopeless, and wonderful forgiveness.
Indeed, in Him is life. Though He died, death could not hold Him. He conquered death and the grave! For He is Lord over all, even death. Today, we celebrate resurrection Sunday. But it will not mean much if you have not turned your life over to the Lord of Life. Have you given your life to Him? Have you trusted Him for salvation? Have you drunk from the river life from where those who drink will never thirst again? Are you tired and weary? Are you afraid? Are you secure in this earthly journey? Are you seeking for the answer? Open your bible and see that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1); ” And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us….(John1:14). Jesus is the answer. In Him is real living, not the temporary, fleeting pleasures and false happiness this earthly existence has to offer. May the spirit of the Lord rise up in your heart and experience the resurrection power of Jesus – You will never be the same again!
