Co-Heirs In Christ

“So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life”.” (Acts 11:18b, NIV)

In the old days, God classifies people into two: the Jews and the Gentiles.

God does not make a distinction by gender, skin color, economic status, educational attainments, and other superficial groupings man makes.  God has no favoritism.  He loves all and accepts all. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Everyone needs to repent and believe unto salvation.

In ancient times, only Israel received the promises, the laws, the instructions, the saving truth, but now, God tore the veil that separates us from Him and from one another. The Gentile believer becomes co-heir with Israelite and is entitled to receive the promises and the glories of the world to come.

Were you a Gentile in the past? Rejoice! For all the promises in the Old Testament, even if addressed to Israel, is now yours! We also have Abraham as our father, not just the twelve tribes of Israel, because we believe as Father Abraham did – who became the father of faith.

We are also God’s friend like Abraham, the friend of God.  Didn’t Jesus say, “I no longer call you servants, but I call you friends.” (John 15:15)

So away with all these man-made artificial groupings.  God receives, loves, and accepts all who come to Him through His son Jesus Christ, in humility and repentant heart. (Romans 10:11-13; Colossians 3:10-12)

The word “Repentance” means “to change one’s mind; to agree with God,” sinner or saint, whether man or woman, rich or poor, educated or uneducated, red, brown, yellow, black or white, Jew or Gentile – such diverse is the Church of the Lord.  We are one people under One God – the Lord over all. Praise be unto Jesus!
