Today’s Food for the Soul: Ephesians Chapters 1-3
You are Redeemed
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (Ephesians 1:7, NKJV)
I once visited a pawn shop when I saw a particular musical instrument for sale on display. As I entered the shop, the pawnbroker mentioned that he has many items for sale because the pawners/owners did not redeem them. That scene reminded me of the word ‘redemption’ and our life before Christ. We have had pawned our lives, subjected, and enslaved to sin, death, and under the power of Satan (Ephesians 2:1-3). Sin and Satan took control of our lives and submitted to their desires since we cannot redeem ourselves.
Have you ever thought of the significance of yourself being redeemed?
You have been bought in full, saved from the bondage of sin, and freed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Praise God for His mercy, grace, and great love! Through faith in Jesus Christ, you now belong to God! You are God’s precious child and His beloved!
God intends that we succeed in our journey as free people; hence He planned everything from the beginning. Remember to remind yourself when you feel alone or experience challenges and hardships that our redemption involves all three ‘Persons of the Trinity.’ We have a Father, who holds us in the palm of His hand and will never allow anyone to snatch us out of His hand; Jesus promised He would never leave us nor forsake us, and the Holy Spirit seals our salvation and helps us to live victoriously. So cheer up! You have full coverage and protection!
Therefore, take your position, begin to live, and stand as a redeemed person. Celebrate God’s goodness and declare His incredible love!
