God Is In Control

“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” (Revelation 14:6-7, NKJV)

The predominance of pain, suffering, afflictions, and evil in our world causes some to wonder whether a good and powerful God exists, and if He does, why does He not immediately halt evil’s ravaging effects? Just like the Covid19 pandemic, is there an end to this?

The Apostle John’s vision of a beast rising out of the sea and wreaking havoc sends an important message: Evil only happens with God’s permission, and He limits whatever evil does occur. Note in Revelation 13:5 that the beast “was given authority to continue for forty-two months,” a predefined, restricted length of time. God restrains evil, so we do not experience its total onslaught.

God has set the time for judgment and salvation. Let us not waste the opportunity to share and preach the Gospel to everyone. Know that in these chaotic and desperate times, we can only find protection, hope, healing, and salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ.
