Be a Wise Builder: Hear and Obey!

“Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock; and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25, NKJV)

Are you a hearer of the word? If you are, it is good, but remember, your action must complement it. The doing completes the foundation and makes a person establish on the rock- in Jesus Christ!

Hearing and doing God’s word equals obedience. The teaching of the Lord Jesus reminds us that obedience produces a firm groundwork in our lives. When we obey out of our love for God, we build a life of strength and endurance. Calamities of life may come our way, but we will surely stand against it and indeed will walk out through it unshaken and victorious.
