Today’s Food for the Soul: Revelation Chapters 15-17
Draw Closer To God
“They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.” (Revelation 15:3-4, NKJV)
These verses are the prelude to the bowl of judgments. In the previous chapters, the Apostle John gave an accurate view of good and evil in a time of intense persecution. As we continued our reading in the book of Revelation when the seven bowls of the wrath of God are being poured down on the earth executing God’s righteous judgment, what have you noticed? Those people, instead of coming to God in repentance, the more they blasphemed God and remained unrepentant. Should we follow after their ways?
Why blame, resist, and curse God when experiencing pain and suffering?
Why turn away from the God who has the power over the plague or any circumstance?
When we encounter calamities or disasters globally, locally, or personally, we must not blame and curse God. Instead of turning away from God, we must draw closer to Him, knowing that He is the solution to our circumstances. We must take comfort in the knowledge of His promises that no matter how bad things get, God will never leave us nor forsake us. Therefore, whatever situation or circumstance we are in, let us always remember to draw closer to Him.
